Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland. As a supplement, it is useful for regulating sleep and the body’s daily rhythmic cycle, making it ideal for jet lag. Melatonin is also an important antioxidant that acts as an effective scavenger of free radicals. Various factors may cause melatonin levels to become low, such as inadequate dietary intake of its precursor tryptophan, low levels of serotonin, normal aging, insufficient exposure to natural light, and certain medications. Melatonin may support a healthy immune and stress response.

Recommended Dosage: Adults: Take 1 to 3 capsules, once daily, at or before bedtime, or as recommended by your health care practitioner. Consult a health care practitioner for use beyond 4 weeks. Dosing recommendations are given for typical use based on an average 150 pound healthy adult. Healthcare practitioners are encouraged to use clinical judgement with case-specific dosing based on intended goals, subject body weight, medical history, and concomitant medication and supplement usage.

Caution: Risk Information: Do not use this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not drive or use machinery for 5 hours after taking melatonin. Avoid taking with alcohol or products that cause drowsiness.
